Beautiful dense bamboo forest on the Pipiwai Trail

Lahaina To Pipiwai Trail

Lahaina to Pipiwai Trail

Most visitors to Maui stay on the sunny leeward side of the island, typically in the Lahaina and the newer Kaanapali Beach areas.

To get to the Pipiwai Trail from Lahaina and Kaanapali requires traversing the bulk of the island, but luckily Maui is not very big and the drive is very beautiful, especially towards the latter half when you’re on the Road to Hana, one of the most scenic drives in USA.

Lahaina to Pipiwai Trail is about 80 miles, but expect to take 3+ hours due to the nature of the road. Starting at daybreak is your best bet to avoiding some of the traffic.

Planning to hike the trail? Visit our Pipiwai Trail home page for the complete rundown on every single detail!
