The Pipiwai Trail is at mile marker 42 on the Hana Highway (Route 31), popularly called the Road to Hana, a beautiful and scenic coastal drive.

The Kipahulu Visitor Center of Haleakala National Park is at mile marker 42, and the trail head for the Pipiwai Trail is just off the parking lot for the visitor center.
Note that to enter the national park, you will have to pay the entrance fee.
