Is Pipiwai Trail open?

The Pipiwai Trail and the restrooms at the trailhead are open 24 hours. However, the Kipahulu Visitor center is open only from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In winter, daylight fades quickly, so plan ahead and budget enough time to return during the day.

If you’re covering the scenic road to Hana on the same day, I highly recommend you leave some of the attractions along the way for your return trip so you can complete this beautiful Pipiwai Trail hike!
